CEREC Crowns and Bridges in Scottsdale, AZ

If a tooth is damaged or decayed to the point it cannot be supported by a filling, you will likely need a dental crown to restore its function and appearance. When patients need crowns, Dr. Jeffrey D. Clark offers the added convenience of the state-of-the-art CEREC same-day crowns at his Scottsdale office.

What Is a CEREC Same-Day Dental Crown?

A crown is a custom-crafted restoration made from porcelain or other durable material placed over what remains of your natural tooth. The crown restores its size, shape, and strength, and dental cement ensures it is strong and can support biting, chewing, and other functions.

Unlike traditional crowns made at a dental lab, we place CEREC crowns in a single visit with no follow-up appointments required. One appointment includes consultation, planning, tooth preparation, and crown placement!

Why Choose a CEREC Same-Day Crown?

CEREC technology offers a revolutionary approach to dental crowns that combines convenience, precision, and aesthetics in a single visit. Whether you need to restore a damaged tooth or enhance your smile, CEREC crowns provide numerous advantages that set them apart from traditional options.

We design, create, and place CEREC crowns in a single appointment, saving you the time and hassle of multiple visits.

Comfortable Process
Advanced technology minimizes discomfort and streamlines treatment, making for a more pleasant experience.
Strong and Durable
High-quality ceramic materials withstand normal biting and chewing forces, making them a long-lasting solution.

What's the Procedure for CEREC Same-Day Teeth in Scottsdale?

Dr. Clark showing a patient the CEREC crown process, scottsdale az The procedure for getting a CEREC crown involves the following steps:

  • Tooth Preparation — The first step is to clean the tooth enamel to eliminate decay and reshape the tooth so that the crown can be worn safely and comfortably.
  • Crown Design — Then, Dr. Clark will use CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) technologies to prepare your dental crown. Using the CEREC Primescan intraoral scanner, we obtain a highly accurate, mess-free impression of your dental anatomy.
  • Crown Manufacture — The CEREC system uses the impression to create a 3-D CAD model of the specific tooth. Using that CAD model, the system uses CAM technology (our in-office milling unit) to create a ceramic dental crown from a single porcelain block.

The entire milling process takes only 30 minutes, and all you have to do is sit back and relax. Once the crown is completed, Dr. Clark will affix it to your tooth, and you can leave our office that day with your beautiful, natural-looking crown securely in place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental crowns typically last anywhere between a decade and 15 years, but with excellent care, they can often last much longer. Sometimes they can even last up to 20 years or more! The lifespan of a dental crown depends on several factors, including your oral hygiene habits, the type of material used, and everyday wear and tear. Certain behaviors can shorten the lifespan of your crown:

  • Teeth grinding
  • Jaw clenching
  • Chewing on ice
  • Using your teeth as tools

At Scottsdale Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer same-day crowns in Scottsdale using advanced CEREC technology, which allows us to create and place your custom crown in just one visit. These same-day ceramic crowns are strong, highly aesthetic, and precisely crafted to match the shape, color, and function of your natural tooth.

How CEREC Works

CEREC crowns are milled from a single block of high-quality ceramic, making them extremely durable and resistant to cracks and wear. However, like any dental restoration, they still require proper care. To help your crown last as long as possible, we recommend brushing twice daily, flossing once a day, wearing a nightguard if you grind your teeth, and visiting us regularly for checkups.

A crown being put on a tooth, scottsdale azDr. Clark recommends dental crowns at our Scottsdale dental office to restore a tooth’s strength, function, and appearance. Some of the reasons you might need a crown include the following:

  • Cracked or Broken Tooth — If your tooth has suffered significant damage from a crack or break, a crown can provide the necessary protection and restore its normal function.
  • Root Canaled Tooth — Following a root canal procedure, your tooth can become more brittle and vulnerable to fractures. A crown helps to reinforce the tooth and prevent further damage.
  • Severely Decayed Tooth — An extensively decayed tooth that can't be repaired with a filling will require a crown to protect the remaining tooth structure.
  • Misshapen or Discolored Tooth — A crown can also be used for cosmetic purposes to improve a tooth's aesthetics and enhance your smile.
  • Anchor a Dental Bridge — Crowns hold a dental bridge in place, filling the gap left by missing teeth and restoring your smile.

Dental Bridges

A fixed dental bridge is an effective way to restore a smile marred by teeth missing due to dental damage, tooth decay, and gum disease. This method fills the gap between the remaining teeth and prevents them from shifting out of position. Your custom-crafted bridge completes your smile, restores chewing function, and supports facial contours to avoid sagging and maintain a more youthful appearance.

Dental Inlays and Onlays

Getting an inlay or onlay is similar to having a crown placed. The important distinction is that an inlay or onlay requires much less of your natural tooth to be removed by drilling.

With a traditional crown, the entire tooth must be reshaped to fit inside the new covering. That makes inlays and onlays preferable since the dentist can preserve as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. This is considered a conservative way to restore a tooth's appearance.

Cost of CEREC Crowns & Bridges at Scottsdale Cosmetic Dentistry

At Scottsdale Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer CEREC crowns starting at $1,500 to $1,800, providing patients with high-quality, same-day restorations designed for durability and a natural appearance. For those needing more extensive treatment, dental bridges begin at $5,000 and up, depending on the complexity of the case and materials used. These advanced solutions restore function and aesthetics while maintaining your oral health. Please note that these prices do not include insurance coverage, and out-of-pocket costs can vary significantly based on your provider and plan. We’re happy to provide a personalized estimate and help you understand your insurance benefits during your consultation.

PrimeScan 2 Digital Impressions

Before digital impression systems were available, patients would have to bite into clay or a putty-like substance to capture the shape of their teeth. Not only was this inconvenient, but it was not entirely accurate and would often miss minor surface imperfections.

Digital impressions are much easier, more convenient, and completely accurate. We use the state-of-the-art CEREC PrimeScan system, and impressions can be sent to an in-office milling unit or a trusted dental lab when necessary.
