Digital X-Rays
High-definition images of a mouth and the surrounding area are an important tool that helps a dentist accurately diagnose issues, identify the warning signs of potential problems, and offer the most conservative treatments available. Digital imaging provides high-definition scans and is safer for the patient and better for the environment than traditional film x-rays. These digital images do not require developing and are easily stored and transferred to specialists or insurance companies as needed.
Axeos CT Cone Beam Scanner
Some dental treatments, such as implants, require advanced planning. In these scenarios, we employ a CT cone beam scanner, which provides a panoramic view of a patient’s mouth and lets us visualize how the teeth and restoration options will fit together. Dr. Clark also recommends using the cone beam scanner every three to five years as part of a regular dental checkup because it allows for the early diagnosis of a wide range of potential dental problems.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic x-rays offer a comprehensive view of the entire mouth in a single image, capturing details of the teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. This technology is invaluable for diagnosing complex dental issues, planning treatments like orthodontics or implants, and detecting problems that might not be visible with traditional x-rays. Panoramic x-rays provide a clear, detailed overview, helping Dr. Clark create precise treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic. It is a groundbreaking system that lets a skilled dentist design, create, and place a new crown in just a single visit. While you relax, we’ll scan an image of your tooth into a computer designed just for this purpose.
This digital technology ensures the crown is made to the exact specifications of your tooth. CEREC is a multifaceted system comprising an infrared digital camera, 3-D imaging software, a milling unit, and much more.
Nitrous Oxide
If you prefer more relaxation during dental procedures, nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is a safe and effective option. Administered through a comfortable mask, nitrous oxide works quickly to ease anxiety and reduce discomfort without putting the patient to sleep. Its effects wear off almost immediately after the procedure, allowing patients to resume their daily activities with minimal downtime. This makes it an ideal choice for those nervous or uneasy about dental visits.
Digital Records
Our practice uses digital records to streamline patient information management. Digital records are secure, easy to update, and allow for quick access to dental history, treatment plans, and x-rays. This technology enables seamless communication between our office and specialists, ensures accurate record-keeping, and contributes to more efficient, personalized care.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
We’ve equipped our treatment rooms with TVs to make your visit more enjoyable. Whether you want to watch your favorite show, catch up on the news, or enjoy a movie, the TVs distract you from procedures, helping you feel more at ease. This simple addition enhances your overall experience, making dental visits more comfortable and stress-free.
Noise-Canceling Headphones
To enhance patient comfort, we offer noise-canceling headphones during treatments. These headphones help block out the sounds of dental equipment, such as dental drills, creating a more relaxing and peaceful environment. Whether you prefer to listen to music, watch a movie, or simply enjoy some quiet, noise-canceling headphones make your dental visit a more pleasant experience.
Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral imaging has changed how dentists examine, diagnose, treat, and interact with patients. These digital images allow the patient to see the mouth from the dentist's perspective, which makes it easier for the dentist to explain dental issues and the benefits of treatment. Ensuring that our patients are partners in their dental care is imperative to us, and we use state-of-the-art intraoral cameras that capture high-definition images quickly and without discomfort.
PrimeScan 2 Digital Impressions
Before digital impression systems were available, patients would have to bite into clay or a putty-like substance to capture the shape of their teeth. Not only was this inconvenient, but it was not entirely accurate and would often miss minor surface imperfections.
Digital impressions are much easier, more convenient, and completely accurate. We use the state-of-the-art CEREC PrimeScan system, and impressions can be sent to an in-office milling unit or a trusted dental lab when necessary.
Saliva Testing
Saliva testing is a valuable diagnostic tool that helps assess oral and overall health. By analyzing the composition of your saliva, Dr. Clark can detect imbalances in oral bacteria, identify potential sensitivities to dental materials, and assess your risk for conditions like gum disease.
This non-invasive test provides essential insights into your oral health, allowing for more personalized treatment plans that align with your body’s natural balance. Saliva testing is a key component of our biological dentistry approach, ensuring safe and effective care tailored to your unique health needs.
